Nizam al-Din, Malik

Nizam al-Din, Malik
He served as wakil-i dar under Balban (1266-1286) and collaborated with Balban's wazir in bringing Kaiqubad (1287-1290) to the throne. Under Kaiqubad, he became very powerful as dadbeg. He brought about the removal of great no-bles of the previous regime and also induced the sultan to order the execution of Kaikhusrau. Eventually Kaiqubad had Nizam al-Din poisoned.
